Y'all, Halloween falls on the 31st this year.

Hey, Darlin'....how you doin' today? Good, Hon. Sure seems like Mondee rolls round real regular like. I could swear we just had us a Monday 'bout a week ago. But, it says Mondee rat thare on the newspaper so, I guess it's back like a boomerang. I reckon my mind has been kindly truant lately 'cause Halloween damn near slipped up on us. Course, I ain't got too much more decoratin' to do since I never took the stuff down from last year. I'm always lookin' fer ways to save time like that.

You know, Babe. I am bout tarred of lookin' at punkins. Now, I don't mean no offense by that. I'm just not the type a gal who wants to be like ever body else. So here at this trailer, we gone start usin' bananas fer Halloween and I'm switchin' punkins to Christmas. Let's see iffin we can't start us a trend. Y'all up for it?

I love it! I have always said bananas are the most versatile fruit and don't get enough love.

Why I use them for everything.

I mean EVERYTHING!! :P

Chelle
Can I have your banana when you get through with it? She stole my thought.

Anonymous,
Yeah, Chelle's like that. But she's my cyber BFF so I put up with her.
Just remember, green bananas are better for some jobs ;)

Youse guys ain't talking fruit salad here, are youse?

There's nothing wrong with a bit of banana action, or so I'm reliably informed... Ahem

In fact, one only has to listen to the Rolling Stones' 'Starf*cker' to hear about the alleged medical benefits of fruit in general...

That is by far the coolest looking banana I've seen to date, no pun intended lol. :)

Oh Christ on a clam. I've been laid up, sucking up the codeine cough syrup, coughing up my lungs I forgot about the banana.

It was left over from lunch some time last week at work, and I left it in the truck after work.

It's going to smell as bad as all those cinnamon brooms they have in the craft stores this time of year.

Guess it's good I can't smell a bloody thing right now. I'll be seeing my own Halloween banana when I drive to the doctor's tomorrow.

There ya go, I'm in a good mood already laughing about your Halloween. I'm afraid after reading Chelle's post that I'm going to stick to punkins - I mean pumpkins. Call me old fashioned.

Are you dressing up?

Pumpkins can be lots of fun,Eve. On Nov.1st we take the left over firecrackers from the 4th of July, put them in our jack-o-lanterns,and blow them to smithereens! It's loads of family fun!!

We get way too many Mondays around here too. Why is that? Why must there always be a Monday? What about more Saturdays, for example. That's be good.

Bananas sound fine to me. We do have a little turnip we are carving (for the sake of historical something or other) but it is getting a bit soft in the head (like me on a Monday) so it is living in the fridge for now (unlike me).

Say Eve. Glad you've got the subcription feed up and running. Makes life a lot easier for idle buggers such as myself.

eve cleveland said...

Lidian,
Turnips...I like it! I gone give that a shot, hahahaha. Girl, I had something real funny to send u and now I can't find it. It's here on my desk somewhere...I will hunt it down in a bit.

Ummm..but I am sure that by Chirstmas the pumpkins will all be rotton and dead. Well I guess that is ok..we can have dead carved christmas pumkins.......

Eve,
All this talkin about Halloween and lookin at your picture took dead aim at my memory bank. I seen you workin at a funeral home some years back. You was the lady who was in charge of the bereaved. I am not mistaken. Why haven't you mentioned it?

That is one cool-ass gothic banana! Now that you mention it, bananas would certainly be more portable than pumpkins. But how do you get the candle inside?

Happy Halloween!

Ya know Eve, bananas could work great as Christmas ornaments as well -- maybe you should think about pushin' the pumpkin to Easter -- just a thought.

Anyhowser, that is one cool-ass banana!

Green bananas? Aren't those a bit hard?

ReformingGeek said...

Yes. Bananas will do nicely. I just made banana bread ;-) Since the pumpkin will probably still be on my front porch by Christmas, I guess I'm already on the bandwagon.

If Mama ain't happy...somebody's gonna get kilt.
